The tuition is $7,200.
You will be given 2 mannequins, and various bundles of hair, and an outline of various braiding techniques to complete.
If you can’t find someone to practice on, the two mannequins provided in your kit will substitute for a live person.
The online program provides instructional videos that give step-by-step instruction by on the proper styling and braiding techniques.
Hair extension fibers will be provided in the natural hair styling kit.
You can contact an instructor at the school during business hours and via Zoom, What’s App, Webcam, Face Time, or some other social media outlet, a time will be established to meet for instructions. You can also set up an online appointment for one-on-one training with an instructor.
An on-campus orientation is mandatory in order to receive your Natural Hair Styling kit and password to the online curriculum.
Full time Students are allowed 12 weeks to complete the natural hair care styling and hair braiding program.
HALF-TIME (Evening) = 24 weeks are allowed to complete the natural hair care styling and hair braiding program)
Students will receive a Certificate of Completion in Natural Hair Care and Hair Braiding, after the completion of all course requirements.
The Natural Hair Care Styling and Hair braiding program hours at NHCI, will not be transferable in the state of Minnesota. Student from another state should check with state licensure regulatory office.
Hours will be traced and verified thru the institution tracking device and sent to students via email or be verified with students in person via video meeting.
On the day of the Mandatory Orientation, you will be given an outline of all required techniques.
Prior to enrolling in the Natural Hair Care Institute, it is recommended that you contact the State Board of Cosmetology or your state licensure regulatory office to determine if NHCI hours are transferable to your state.
If you live in Minnesota, our school is open from 9am to 9 pm every day except Friday thru Sunday. You are welcome to come in; you will have access to our computer lab at no cost.
There is no financial aid available. We have created an affordable plan for students and we will assist student to seek financial assistance, but there is no grantee of funds. Please direct all questions to our accounting department.
NHCI is the only OFFICIAL Braiding School in the Twin Cities area. Our school offers a certificate of completion in Natural Hair Styling and Hair Braiding, which enable our student to go into opening their own business or gaining employment in the Natural Hair and Braiding industry.
All of our teachers have years of experience in Natural Hair Styling and Hair Braiding or are licensed through the State of Minnesota Cosmetology Board and have completed a licensed cosmetology program approved by the Board.
